Moving to Your New Phoenix Apartment
Your apartment search is over and you are approaching the big day, don't wait until the last minute, be prepared and make your move easier and enjoyable. Whether you are relocating from another state, or just moving across town, moving into your new apartment home is a monumental task, but if you break it down into parts and take it a little bit at a time, it will come and go quickly and give you more time to enjoy your new home.
Even as you search for your new apartment, you should be focused on the move as well. Phoenix is a rapidly growing city and many of the vendors and services you will need to help you during your transition may not be able to help you on short notice. As soon as you start looking for your new Phoenix rental, begin to strategize and think of everything you will need to do for the big day. Remember, moving is often regarded by psychologists as one of life’s greatest stresses, but being prepared for the day well ahead of time will make everything a breeze and rather than being stressed, you will be spending some much needed time by the pool at your new apartment complex rather than digging through boxes trying to remember where you packed your clock radio.
Take a half day one weekend and go through your apartment taking a rough inventory of your belongings, from furniture to decorative items. Also, take a little time to think about all of the services and people you will need to contact to when you move. Keep those lists handy and over the next couple of days, refer back to those lists and add new items that come to mind. Once you feel pretty comfortable that you have a good solid list of items from your apartment and utilities, accounts and services that need to be changed, go back through them and start to prioritize them from one to ten, where one’s are critical and may take time and tens are easily handled items that you can do here and there while you prepare for your move. By preparing these lists and continuing to add to them and prioritize them, you will have a good grasp of everything that will be involved and you will also be able to begin preparing and tackling items, even before you have decided on your new apartment community.
If you have prepared the lists above before you have even chosen your new apartment, give yourself a pat on the back, you are ahead of the game and will thank yourself later. Don’t be too proud of yourself though, if you become too confident you will lose focus on the job at hand and lose all of your momentum.
Once you have prepared the lists above, browse our other articles and make this move your best ever. Keep checking back we will continue to add new ideas and checklists, like the following:
