Phoenix Chinese Restaurants (0)

Chinese food is a staple in any American city and Phoenix is certainly no different. With ethnic restaurants popping up all over the city, a good portion of them are Chinese and for very good reason: Chinese cuisine is America’s absolute favorite foreign food. While most of the Chinese restaurants in Phoenix serve the classic Cantonese style, numerous Chinese restaurants in Phoenix prepare authentic Chinese dishes familiar to other Chinese provinces. There are dozens of good Phoenix Chinese restaurants but limited space allows us to only highlight the two best.

The first restaurant that has to be mentioned is actually a Chinese & Vietnamese hybrid named Maxim Restaurant. Famous for having some of the best pho in the entire city, Maxim also serves quite a few authentic Chinese dishes. The tofu is also the best in all of Phoenix, served in a multitude of ways, the most famous being the lemongrass tofu. Their pork egg foo yung is also remarkably delicious as are their Vietnamese shrimp rolls. It seems to redundant to list their best dishes when, in actuality, nearly their entire menu is worth ordering. The service matches the quality, too, as the wait staff always seem to serve you with a smile.

Chino Bandido, located on North 19th Avenue, is another one of the more popular Phoenix Chinese restaurants. Much like the restaurant above, this restaurant is also a hybrid. But instead of being coupled with authentic Vietnamese cuisine, Chino Bandido is half Mexican. Strange and yet very delicious. To better illustrate, two of the most popular items on the menu are the ‘Jade Red Chicken Quesadilla’ and the ‘Emerald Chicken.’ Even being featured on the Food Network, this restaurant’s take on cuisine is about as unique as you can get and yet they still serve up numerous authentic Chinese dishes, such as chicken teriyaki and egg foo yung, for you to pick your fancy.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of Phoenix Chinese restaurants with the extensive Cantonese menu that you are so used to seeing. But the two restaurants above not only serve Chinese cuisine just as authentic as the rest of them, but manage to create a fusion between two different types of cuisine that would make them unique dining experiences anywhere in the World. Chino Bandido and Maxim Restaurant manage to deliver consistently good food, service & ambiance while separating themselves from the pack.
