Moving Into Apartments In Phoenix
Tuesday, November 03 2009 22:16
You’re browsing online and you’ve finally found
the one. Or your realtor has showed you the perfect spot. Or you’ve talked to a
friend and she’s agreed to share the rent with you. While you’re relieved that
you can finally stop searching for apartments, Phoenix seems very, very far
away. Regardless of the distance, moving will certainly be a challenge. After
all, you have a lot of stuff, right?
Boxes are your friend in moving to apartments. Phoenix moving companies are great, but it may be cheaper to make the trip on your own. Grocery stores get boxes daily, and asking a manager should get you a ton for free.
We wouldn’t recommend you sneaking behind the place at night to run off with box flats, but a little straightforward dumpster diving might not hurt. If you don’t like getting your hands dirty, try asking friends and family for some spare cardboard.
In fact, friends are essential to getting into apartments. Phoenix is a wonderful place to meet new people, but before you get there, take advantage of your old contacts. Your dad may have a truck, or your old roommates might enjoy a quick vacation out west. Talk up Mesa or the Grand Canyon, and beg a favor or two. Don’t underestimate the power of extra help. While you may have been alone in looking for apartments, Phoenix will best be approached with company.
Also, do your homework on area policies before moving into apartments. Phoenix apartment complexes sometimes have specific regulations from management as to when and how you can show up with a moving truck. You’d hate to have to show up and have management tell you that now’s not a great time to put a truck in front of your new townhome. Ask when the moving hours are, and check what the dimensions are for doors. Not all couches fit all apartments. Phoenix has some lovely spaces and they’d be far lovelier with your plush ottoman not out in the hall.
Renters also like to check whether insurance covers to move to apartments. Phoenix is as safe as anywhere else, but accidents do happen. See if you can get moving insurance from the place you rent your truck or even your own provider. Also, double check to see if your renter’s insurance is current.
Whatever you’re looking for in apartments, Phoenix can provide a place for you. Just be sure you can get there.
