Phoenix Italian Restaurants (0)
There are quite a few Italian restaurants in Phoenix that act as good representations of the all the different types of cuisine found throughout Italy. In Northern Italy, much of the food has French derivatives, with lots of different cheeses, sauces & bread. The cuisine in the southern regions of Italy focus on various pastas, meats & different types of seafood. The best Italian restaurants in Phoenix serve Old World recipes from both sides of the country and do so gracefully. This article will highlight two Phoenix Italian restaurants that go above and beyond their duty of serving classic, authentic Italian food in warm and hospitable environments.
Marcellino Ristorante, located on East Northern Avenue, has the best Italian cuisine that Phoenix can possibly offer. Owned and operated by ‘Chef Marcinello,’ this restaurant is the second one he’s opened in the United States after Riva Grill in New York. Having other restaurants in places such as Abruzzo, Greece & Rome, you can easily see how eating at Marcellino Ristorante is like practically dining in Italy without the eleven hour flight. Popular items on the menu include ‘scallops al pesto’ and ‘lamb chops al balsamico’. The menu is extensive for an Italian restaurant and the prices are moderate considering the elegant dining style and complex dishes.
The other Italian restaurant in Phoenix that has to be mentioned is called Pizza A Metro on West Thomas Road. True to its name, Pizza A Metro has some of the absolute best pizza you’ll eat anywhere in the Valley. In addition to their Napoli-style pizza, the restaurant serves authentic Italian dishes ranging from ‘Veal Francese’ to the classic chicken parmesan. Their fried calamari is lightly breaded and not overly fried or greasy like a lot of other calamari found in Italian restaurants. The prices have gone up recently but the value is more than appropriate for the quality of food that you receive.
Overall, Marcellino Ristorante and Pizza A Metro are two of the most authentic dining experiences that you will find in the city of Phoenix. Italian restaurants come and go every year in Phoenix and only those with loyal clientele and consistent service stay in business. Due to the quality and consistency of their food and service, these two restaurants certainly deserve to stay in business for a long, long time.
