Central Station, the city’s public transportation center, is located in the heart of Copper Square, and the area boasts 31,000 parking places, so getting there should be easy.

There are plenty of American restaurants in Phoenix but give Chelsea’s Kitchen a try for its variety of burgers, sandwiches and salads, plus yummy desserts and a full bar. If it’s not too hot outside, dine on the outdoor patio. Add a Southwest twist to your meal with a glass of white Sangria. Early birds will appreciate that kids eat free daily from 3 to 6 p.m. – also Happy Hour time.

There also are many Mexican restaurants in Phoenix, and Filiberto’s is popular for its authentic Mexican food. The family-owned restaurant got its start in 1986, when brothers Flavio, Aurelio, Francisco and Filiberto Tenorio wanted to open an authentic fresh Mexican food restaurant. They opened their first one in San Diego. Today, Filiberto’s has 28 restaurants in Arizona and California; 11 are in Phoenix and three are in nearby Tempe. The breakfast platters are served all day, and the lunch and dinner menus offer all the traditional favorites such as tacos, tostadas, enchiladas and burritos.

To sample one of the more interesting Southwest restaurants in Phoenix, Vincent on Camelback, with its upscale Southwest menu and classic French dishes, is a Southwest restaurant in Phoenix worthy of a visit. It’s been at the same location on East Camelback Road since it opened in 1986, and Vincent Guerithault is an award-winning chef who has published a cookbook. Duck, veal, lamb, seafood and lobster- it’s all here plus more. For an exotic dessert, try a Grand Marnier Souffle.

Among the Chinese restaurants in Phoenix is Maxim, which serves Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. Located in a strip mall, it might not be much to look at on the outside but the food is great and Maxim has a big fan base. Try the Pho, Wonton Noodle Soup, Lemongrass Tofu and Spring Rolls.

If you love Asian food but prefer to dine at one of the Japanese restaurants in Phoenix, visit the Blue Fin Japanese Restaurant, which opened in 1981 near downtown Phoenix. Family-owned and operated, the Blue Fin Japanese Restaurant in Phoenix serves delicious Japanese food in a quick-service setting. Fresh chicken is char-grilled over pumice stones, sauces are homemade, and many dishes are healthy, including the brown rice and vegetarian items.

If you’re in the mood for pizza, Pizza A Metro is among the many Italian restaurants in Phoenix. It’s located in a strip mall that won’t impress but the pizza has a reputation of being fantastic, and, after all, isn’t that what really counts!
